ABOUT MEPLAS

Meplas Ltd was formed in June 2018 for the sole purpose of creating a UK Limited company that will be the vehicle to creating one of the first UK plastic film washing and pelletising facilities capable of reprocessing UK sourced residual plastic packaging film waste streams and turning it back into a useable and saleable Plastic Film Grade Pellet, ready for manufacturing.  

Prior to Meplas’s inception, the key personnel of the company all have vast experience and knowledge in various aspects of both the UK and Chinese plastic recycling industry. Since the banning of plastic packaging waste exported to China in 2017 by the Chinese Government’s ‘Sword Action’ initiative, it was a natural progression in order to bring the Chinese reprocessing facilities and capabilities to the country of source of the recovered plastics, in order to continue and satisfy the demand for the Chinese manufacturing industries insatiable need for recycled plastic pellet grade feedstock for manufacturing.

Meplas has established the supply of LDPE Recycled Pellets to the Chinese market, to manufacturers who produce various plastic products for industrial and construction uses, for example the anti-infiltration film for road and building construction. Meplas is proud to have supplied pellets to the manufacturer who were contracted for the construction of the Water Cube Stadium for the Beijing Olympics in 2008.
